Stank Assassin uses a combination of UV/C lighting to kill 99.9 percent of bacteria in the helmet lining. The disinfection properties of ultraviolet lighting have been known for over 140 years, since the antibacterial effects of the shorter wavelengths of sunlight were discovered. Shortly thereafter, it was proven that the UV portions of the light spectrum were able to destroy microorganisms. With using UV/C disinfecting there will be no more removing liners to clean and disinfect.
Once the disinfecting is complete, the machine fogs the interior of the helmet with a deodorizer to neutralize odors and then a pleasant fragrance is fogged into the lining to help keep the helmet smelling fresh.
Stank Assassins uses no liquids in its cleaning and disinfecting process. The fog used is the same kind of fog created by vaping.
The usual cleaning cycle takes approximately 8 minutes. The Stank Assassin Machine is equipped with a touch screen to order services and the machine accepts both bills and credit cards. It is simple, hands-free and automatic.
